Sweet Wedding rice (Portugal)

Sweet Wedding rice
(Portugal)

Ingredients:

1 cup uncooked rice tea
2 cups of hot tea
1 ½ cup of sugar
1 whole lemon peel or orange, do not grate the part
that bitter white
2 cinnamon sticks
5 cloves of India
1 tablespoon (soup) of ginger cut into slices (optional)
1 pinch of salt


Other Ingredients:

4 eggs - egg whites until stiff
1 pinch of salt to beat the egg whites
1 liter of cow milk Boiled
2 tablespoons of cinnamon powder

By Heart:

A mold
1 lacy plastic washcloth or crocheted starched all furadinha

II - Option:

1 cup ground nuts
Mix the nuts after the sweet rice ready.


Way of preparing:

Wash the rice, drain, place in a saucepan with the sugar water and lemon peel cut into a single strip, and a pinch of salt.


After the cooked rice, add half the milk has boiled and then go putting the milk gradually, simmer for fifteen minutes.

Well beat the egg yolks with whisk and add the still warm rice pudding, mix well lead to the fire put 8 'to 10' minutes to cook the yolks.

Beat the egg whites, mix with the sweet rice still warm, take the fire put 2 or 3 minutes.

Rice is mousse type, put a round refractory, cool
Place on top of the rice mold of income washcloth, sprinkle
cinnamon powder.
Take the mold being careful not to break the design.

Note:

At the end of Year put a saucer of ground nuts, mix well.
In Portugal it is customary to serve rice pudding with name
guest made with cinnamon powder.
