Lebanese Tabule + Eating Tips









Ingredients:
2 cups wheat (suitable for kibbe)
1 cup boiling water or as needed
Other Ingredients:
1 small yellow melon, seeded and without hard parts, cut into cubes
1 big fat cucumber, peeled and seeded, chopped into very small cubes
3 tomatoes (Debora) seeded chopped small, dry well with paper towel
1 large onion, chopped very well, put in a sieve, wash in running water, dry with paper towel
1 cup chopped parsley
½ cup of green chives
chopped
2 tablespoons dark seedless raisins, or dates without chopped lumps (optional)
1 tablespoon honey (optional)
1 teaspoon) cinnamon powder (optional)
1 washed lettuce let dry well
NOTICE:
All the above ingredients should be washed, chopped and then dried with paper towels or a clean dishcloth, except for lettuce that is whole.
Season with 1 tablespoon of salt, extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar to taste, mix well,
Take the refrigerator until serving time.
Place the tabule in the center of a round pan around the whole lettuce leaves, for each serving tabule with lettuce leaf

Other Ingredients Optional:
3 peppers one of each color, green, red and yellow.

2 green or red apples with or without peel cut into cubes
Way of preparing
Put the wheat in a bowl, pouring boiling water until it is moist, with no water remaining, let it sit for 20 minutes, until it is dry.
In a large bowl pour the wheat and all the ingredients well dry, mix well.
Leave in the refrigerator until the time to assemble the dish

Serving Mode:
Place the tabule inside a large lettuce leaf, wrap it to eat with your hands.
Curiosity:
In the old days the table was served in a picnic.

Note:
If you want to place common finely chopped lettuce inside the table, that is,
only at the time of serving.
